How To Maintain A Germ Free House

By Edward Bailey

A lot of people think that the safest or cleanest place is a home. This notion will be dispelled once you swipe on some surfaces and look at them slide through a microscope. There are a lot of disease causing pathogens on different surfaces. How can you keep a germ free surface at home?

Keep a cleaning routine that will ensure that all areas around the house are covered. It is common for people to clean areas that are commonly used and visible. A routine ensures that you go through the entire house at least once a week or month. This will avoid accumulation that could eventually make your house a den for germs.

Dry all water and remove moisture from all corners and rooms in the house. Germs thrive in places that are damp. The presence of water also makes it easier to transfer these pathogens to other surfaces. Leave all surfaces and rooms dry. The pathogens will have no place to live and their numbers will therefore be reduced. Open the windows to allow free air circulation so that there is no accumulation. Light is also an effective way to fight germs.

Provide proper ventilation. Enclosed places are usually moist and will therefore cause accumulation of disease causing microorganisms. Free air takes away germs that have already accumulated. Circulating area will keep a room dry therefore free of pathogens. You may also use a heater and air conditioning to initiate air circulation.

Disinfect the duster, spongers and other wiping materials used around the house. These materials are commonly used to clean dirty areas. They remain with a lot of pathogens that can be spread to other areas. Disinfecting eliminates the perfect environment that germs require to thrive. When the duster is used again, it only serves to spread pathogens to other parts of your house.

Keep the bathroom clean. This is one of the dirtiest areas when left unattended. The fact that it comes into constant contact with water means that it is a perfect environment for pathogens to thrive. Clean and disinfect the place on regular basis. It should also remain well aerated so that air can remove all the pathogens that could be lurking around. Without cleaning the place, people will be collecting germs from there and spreading them to other places that appear clean.

Clean your bedding on regular basis. This is supposed to be your most peaceful room. Clean and organize it in a way that makes it appealing to step into the space. De-clutter the bedroom such that it feels peaceful and orderly. Find places to hang some of the clothes before they are folded. Have a bin for all waste and empty it regularly.

Personal hygiene is part of keeping a clean home. A dirty person will spread the germs to the house or from one area to the other. Clean your toothbrush, take a shower, and trim your nails. Keep your hands clean by washing them whenever necessary. Without personal hygiene, diseases and infections will be a normal part of your life.
