Information Obtaining Louisiana CPA Licensure

People who have obtained the public accountant certificate are lucky because they can obtain employment in many states and earn a substantial salary. However, for one to attain the Louisiana CPA certificate, one has to satisfy professional, ethical and educational standards. More so, one must sit for the accounting test and pass for him/her to qualify. This can be a bit challenging hence a person who wants to obtain the licensure must be ready to spend several years in school.

Before one sits for the examination, they need to satisfy the requirements as well as the qualifications of the state they are living in. Different states usually have different eligibility requirements to sit for this exam. Thus it is wise to be aware of them early enough. These eligibility requirements are not necessarily the licensing requirements thus one should be in a position to differentiate the two.

There are various procedures that one has to follow to attain the certificate indicating that he qualifies to be a public accountant. Firstly, research if there are any accounting sessions in local colleges and find out whether the state board of CPA accredits them before enrolling in this classes. This state requires one to have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and have attended 150 hours in al semesters combined. Failure to this, one cannot attain the licensure.

In the event you are lucky to meet the necessary educational requirements, it is mandatory that you live in the state for about 120 days before the exam period. Then, you have to apply for the exam online then download and fill the documents of application. After correctly filling the form, submit it through email and attach your transcripts and payment receipts.

After you submit your application, wait to receive an email of the schedule of the uniform exam and ensure you attend the review or else you will have done everything in vain. Once you complete the exam, you have to gain the required experience for you to be licensed. Typically, you should have one-year accounting experience in this state for you get the job.

During the experience, make sure you specialize in accounting, management advisory, tax, attestation and financial advisory. Your supervisors should verify in writing that you are experienced. Then, you should submit this letter together with the application letter for licensure so that the board can be sure you gained the required experience.

If you are sure that all the requirements are met, you can start the licensure application. Download the form of use and fill it correctly. Pay any application fees that are required then submit the form to the board. Enclose your verification letter, and the college transcripts then send it through the email. You will wait to be approved for before proceeding to the next step.

When you obtain the license, you have to fulfill other requirements like the continuing professional education to maintain the certificate. Therefore, you are required to attain at least 120 hours of CPE every year to be aware of current trends. You can also decide to specialize if you wish.
